What gets you a fast, accurate number
Send photos of each stump from a couple of angles with something in frame for scale, a rough count of how many there are, and a note on access - open lawn, a gated drive, a slope, anything near it we should know about like a specimen tree you're keeping or a planting bed. That's usually enough for a firm price the same day, without either of us guessing at details a clearer photo would have settled.
Mentioning what's nearby matters more here than it might elsewhere - a stump six feet from a mature beech gets handled differently than the identical stump sitting alone in open lawn, and telling us that upfront keeps the quote honest from the start.
When we'll ask to walk the site first
A handful of situations are genuinely hard to price from a photo - a large hardwood where we suspect the root flare runs wider than it appears, a gated or long-drive property where equipment access needs confirming in person, or a stump close enough to a tree you're keeping that we want to see the actual distance between the two root systems before committing to a grind plan. In those cases we'll schedule a brief, discreet walk-through at no cost, so the number we give you is one we'll stand behind on the day we return to do the work.
