We limit what we clear to the stump itself and the immediate ground around it — opening up a wooded understory isn't something we offer, and we'll say so plainly if that's closer to what's actually being asked for.
Why the Vine Comes Off Before the Wheel Touches Wood
Run a cutting wheel into a tangle of ivy or grape vine and you'll spend more time fighting fiber than grinding wood — it winds around the disk rather than breaking apart the way dry, dead material does. Clearing everything back to bare wood also lets us see how wide the base genuinely spreads once a season or two of overgrowth is out of the way, rather than pricing off a guess.
A light amount rides along in the regular haul without a separate charge, since it only costs a few minutes. A stump that's genuinely disappeared under years of vine is a different situation, and we'll price that separately before we ever start cutting.
